Round 2

Player 1 boldly plays a peasant card on her nobility card to place first a crop farm and then place a castle in the province. The crop and the wood are paid to herself.

Player 2 also takes a "double" action by placing a burgher card to first place an ore shop and then sell from her wood farm. Thanks to the castle, she produces 2 wood, and thanks to the church, she may exchange 1 of them for another basic resource. She chooses to keep it as wood so player 1 and 4 earn 1 wood each, as do player 3's shop in the city. Finally she uses 1 wood to expand her farm.

Player 3 treads more carefully and takes a single action with a burgher card to place a crop shop. Player 4 takes advantage of her 1 ore and 1 wood to play a burgher card and acquire an iron ship.

Round 3

Player 1 decides to play a peasant card to sell 2 crop, earning 1 crop both to the castle owner (herself) and the church owner (player 4). She uses 1 crop to expand her farm. Player 2, seeing player 4's iron ship, plays a peasant card and gets 3 wood thanks to player 1's castle and exchanges 1 wood for 1 ore thanks to player 4's church (earning those players those resources) and sells those resources to her own ore shop and the market. She uses 1 wood to expand her wood farm. Player 3 realizes that player 4's ship won't buy from her shops so she decides to play a noble card and open an ore province to earn resources that way. As expected, player 4 plays a burgher card and buys 1 ore from player 2's shop and 1 wood from the market. Player 2 gets 1 ore and player 4 gets the first advanced resource in the game: 1 iron. Player 1 pays 1 ore to expand her ore shop while player 4 refrains from expanding her ship, since she doesn't expect the resource supply to be high enough yet.

Round 4

Player 1 has an abundance of basic resources and decides to play a noble card to exchange 3 wood and 2 crop (market value 2 each) for 1 timber (market value 9) and place a seal on a timber province. Player 2 plays a peasant card on a peasant card to first place an ore farm (earning 1 ore to player 1) and then sell 1 ore to her own shop (earning player 1 another 1 ore) investing 1 ore to expand her farm (earning player 3 1 ore). Player 3 is frustrated that her shops get no trade and decides to play a clergy card on a burgher card. With this, she first collects 1 iron and then exchanges it for 1 crop and 1 wood to buy a timber ship. Player 4 decides to compete with player 3 for the few resources in the city and plays a burgher card on a burgher card to take two burgher actions. First, she pays 1 crop and 1 ore to acquire a textile ship and then she uses it to demand 1 ore from player 2's shop and 1 crop from player 3's shop. Both players expand their shops and player 3 exchange the resources for 1 textile.

Round 5

Player 1 continues her strategy of exchanging basic resources for advanced resources by playing a peasant card and exchange 3 ore for 1 iron and pay it to herself to place an iron farm. Player 2 plays a clergy card and collects 1 iron with the intention to upgrade her shops. With only 1 resource in the city (1 wood) and only 1 ore available on the market, player 3 decides not to use her ship but instead play a burgher card on a clergy card collect 1 textile and use it to upgrade one of her crop shops to a textile shop. Player 4 then decides to play a clergy card and pay 1 iron to place a church in the advanced province.

Round 6

Player 1 decides to continue her seal/castle strategy and plays a peasant card on a nobility card. She uses her actions to exchange her 1 iron and 2 crop for 1 timber (paid to herself) to place a castle in the province and then produces 2 iron thanks to the castle. She uses 1 iron to expand her farm and exchanges the other iron for 1 textile thanks to the church. This earns the castle owner (herself) 1 iron and the church owner (player 4) 1 textile. Player 2 plays a burgher card and pays 1 iron to upgrade one of her shops. Player 3 plays a burgher card on a burgher card to let her ship buy 1 wood from her own shop and 1 crop from the market, which are exchanged for 1 timber. Then she uses the timber to upgrade one of her shops to a timber shop. Player 4 realizes that her ships won't find many basic resources from now on and plays a nobility card on a clergy card to first collect 1 iron and then take a textile/iron mission.
