Annotated Games: 4 Players, version 0,6

This game was played during the game testing of The Mara. For testing purposes, Yellow plays a 2 card strategy and Red a 1 card strategy. Blue starts with a 0 card strategy to learn more about the animals first while Blacks plays a "quick" strategy to drop off tourists as soon as possible if better cards are available.

Each round is documented with player action, picked up cards (animal+colors) and current victory points. Tiles that are known only to some players are faded out.

All players pick a up a tourist cards except Blue, who starts without a tourist and learn about the surroundings. She does find a purple insect matching a tourist back in the lodge but wants to find more matching animals before returning.

Yellow can only drive 1 track with her 2 tourist cards. Red decides to drive 2 tracks to place her jeep between an orange and a purple tile before she starts peeking. Blue drives 2 tracks this turn and use her remaining actions to peek twice and learn four more tiles. Black only needs to drive 1 track to place her jeep between two tiles of interest and is fortunate to find a green carnivore matching one of her tourists when peeking.

Yellow peeks at her two adjacent tiles and one of them turns out to be a matching green amphibian. Red also peeks and finds a matching orange bird. She has some potentially interesting teal tiles ahead of her but given that Yellow hasn't found any teal birds there, she decides to turn and aim for the teal and purple tiles in the other direction. Blue continues to drive and peek and now she finds a second primate matching the tourist card in the nearby lodge. Black drives towards brown and orange tiles.

Yellow drives on in pursuit of more green and teal animals. Red drives 1 track and peeks, although the brown tile is of no interest to her. However, the teal tile does hide a bird and she can take her 2nd photo. Blue heads for the lodge with tourists looking for primates and also has time to peek at a purple tile on the way. Black reaches a track with a brown and an orange tile and is rewarded by finding a matching orange carnivore.

Yellow positions herself to peek at green and teal tiles next turn. Red and Black both drive towards lodges with the idea of peeking at one more tile before dropping off their tourists. In between, Blue picks up tourists looking for primates but ignores the carnivore tourists to avoid being slowed down.

Yellow peeks at the green and teal tiles and the latter has an animal to take a photo of. Drive 1 track, peek and take 1 photo. Red drives and peeks and is fortunate to find the missing purple bird her tourists were looking for. Blue drives 2 tracks towards the green and orange primates she peeked at earlier. Black peeks but fails to find the missing brown carnivore and decides to return to a lodge.

Yellow realizes that the purple tile ahead of her cannot hide the bird she's looking for and heads for the lodge. Red drives to the lodge with her completely satisfied tourists. Blue drives 2 more tracks to the green and orange primates. Black gives up the brown carnivore and picks up new tourists instead.

The test was interrupted to test a version where physical tracks are placed after the jeep to allow players to drive even quicker past tiles they already know.
